No, this is not meant to be funny. It should be taken seriously. I was one of many that had to deal with the glitches that plagued Southwest Airlines this weekend. I had a few delays before boarding my plane. I was frustrated, but there was nothing that I could do. That being said, you have the opportunity to shape your recruiting process. There will be things that will happen beyond your control. Well now that we have that out of the way, we can get down to business.
Who is holding you back? What is holding you back? When are you going to stop being held back? Where are you going? Why are you allowing yourself to be held back? I bet you thought that I was going to provide some answers for you!
I could provide these answers, but everyone’s answer will be different depending on where you are in the recruiting process. The title of this post says it all. While you must allow yourself to take flight to get where you want to go, delays are sometimes unavoidable.
Here is a clue on how to help to avoid some delays in the recruiting process.
1: Go to your club team skill events.(Even if you do not participate, you can help the younger kids.)
2: Take time off work. (Your coaches do it!)
3: Attend all your exposure events.(In most if not all cases, your parents paid money!)
You are probably asking what does number 1 have to do with the recruiting process. It’s an athletic resume builder.
While some delays are unavoidable, work hard to get yourself in position before any potential delays.
